Project Overview
A new dining destination on Las Olas, where Mediterranean influence meets Japanese precision. Inspired by the balance of fire and water, NAIA brings together food, design, and atmosphere in an experience that moves between energy and ease.
NAIA was developed as a contemporary hospitality concept for Fort Lauderdale, bringing Mediterranean and Japanese influences together through a distinct approach to dining and atmosphere. Beginning with naming and strategy, we built the brand around the duality of fire and water, creating a foundation that could carry across identity, physical touchpoints, and digital. From the visual system and collateral to the website and pre-opening communications, each expression was designed as part of the same world. The result is a brand with a clear point of view and a presence designed to feel at home within the evolving Las Olas dining landscape.

BRANDING
NAIA’s identity began with the story behind its name, drawn from the mythology of water nymphs and ideas of movement, flow, and the moon. Fire was introduced as its counterpoint, reflecting both the culinary concept and the meeting of Mediterranean and Japanese influences. The lowercase wordmark uses softly curved serif forms that suggest movement while retaining a sense of elegance and ease. An abstract icon draws from currents and organic forms, creating a symbol that feels fluid without becoming literal. A neutral palette is punctuated by deep blue and ember orange, bringing the elemental tension of water and fire into the visual system. Contrasting typography, layered transparencies, and high-impact imagery add depth, while geometric linework informed by the golden ratio and Vesica Piscis introduces a quieter connection to nature and proportion. Together, these elements create a visual language that feels refined but not formal, carrying NAIA’s story from its primary identity through the smallest branded details.
DESIGN
The physical brand experience came to life through a wide range of touchpoints designed for the restaurant itself. Menus, takeaway packaging, signage, wayfinding, table collateral, printed materials, and other in-space details were each developed with their own function and context taken into consideration. Rather than applying the identity in the same way across every piece, our team adapted the typography, color, iconography, and graphic language to suit each format and interaction. Together, these elements give NAIA a more complete presence in person, shaping how the brand is seen, held, navigated, and experienced throughout the restaurant.
DIGITAL
NAIA’s digital presence was designed as a natural extension of the brand, carrying its balance of movement, atmosphere, and restraint onto the screen. We designed a streamlined landing experience that gives guests an intuitive way to explore the menu, discover upcoming happenings, and learn more about private events, while keeping the visual identity at the forefront. Layered imagery, considered typography, and subtle moments of movement bring the brand’s elemental language into a digital format without overcomplicating the experience.
MARKETING
Before the doors opened, our focus was on giving NAIA a strategic digital presence without giving the full experience away. With food and lifestyle photography still to come, we introduced the brand through a curated social landing page and an initial series of 12 posts built around graphic language, pacing, and copy. The goal was to create recognition early while leaving enough space for curiosity. Custom social templates and email design extended that same visual language across digital touchpoints, giving the brand a consistent foundation for future communication. The result was a pre-opening presence that established NAIA’s point of view before guests ever stepped inside.
