BRANDING

A refined visual identity rooted in Japanese minimalism and cultural symbolism, Mottai’s branding was designed to balance elegance with warm hospitality. Through a restrained wordmark, a fan-inspired icon representing welcome and ceremony, and a nature-driven palette paired with editorial typography and delicate illustrations, the brand captures a sense of craftsmanship, harmony, and understated luxury reflective of its dining experience. Subtle textures, thoughtful layouts, and atmospheric imagery further translate this philosophy across collateral such as menus, signage, business cards, and to-go packaging.

DESIGN

We brought depth through tactile applications—embossed menu covers, textured paper stocks, and foil details that reflect light with understated elegance. This measured use of ornamentation reinforces Mottai’s philosophy of balance and mindfulness, ensuring the brand feels timeless rather than trend-driven.

The Mottai Miami website was designed as a single-page experience where users can quickly find everything they need while also getting a sense of the brand. The layout combines custom illustrations, strong photography, and clean typography to reflect the restaurant’s modern Japanese identity while keeping the structure simple and easy to navigate.

Key actions like viewing the menu, learning about the concept, and making a reservation are placed throughout the page so users can access them naturally as they scroll.
