More than a restaurant, Billie’s was envisioned as a destination—a modern twist on the traditional steakhouse and a love letter to Nantucket. Rooted in the island’s heritage and family, the concept needed to strike a balance: timeless tradition with a contemporary edge.

Our task was to craft an identity that would feel instantly iconic and relevant for decades to come. The result is a brand that resonates with both locals and travelers — those who seek not only a meal but a complete experience. Every detail, from brand voice to visual language, was designed to honor place and heritage while elevating Billie’s into a symbol of contemporary hospitality.

BRANDING

Billie’s brand identity draws from the classics and reimagines them for today. A deep green anchors the palette—timeless and assured—while touches of red and blue nod to coastal prep traditions, reframed with a modern ease.

Typography is layered and deliberate: a stately serif paired with a sharp sans and softened by handwritten script. Together, they create a rhythm between elegance and fun, formality and welcome.

This balance of heritage and freshness gives Billie a visual identity that feels both established and contemporary—instantly recognizable, yet flexible enough to evolve.

ILLUSTRATION

Hand-drawn illustrations bring Nantucket’s heritage and lifestyle into focus—objects from the table, the shoreline, and the restaurant itself sketched in a flowing, interconnected style. Thicker strokes and fluid lines evoke a sense of movement and ease, while motifs of food and drink anchor the brand in culinary comfort.

In print, these drawings are paired with gold foil, brass accents, embossing, and die-cuts, lending weight and permanence. An illustrated map of the island extends the narrative further, anchoring the brand in its setting with detail and personality. Together, these elements ensure the identity feels as present in hand as it does on screen—artful, grounded, and unmistakably of place.

DESIGN

The menus extend the brand identity through color, material, and detail. The dinner menu in deep green debossed leather anchors the palette, while cocktail and dessert menus in coastal blue echo the island’s rhythm. The wine and spirits menu, in rich red, symbolizes depth and discovery. Together, the trilogy reads like a curated set—objects that signal care, detail, and craft at every turn.

MERCHANDISE

We extended Billie’s identity into a lifestyle collection, designed to live in the rhythms of Nantucket—on the beach, at the dock, or around a bonfire. Hoodies, tees, and hats sit alongside tote bags, towels, picnic sets, and cooler bags—each piece created as a natural extension of the brand. Coastal-inspired graphics and cheeky Nantucket phrases bring personality and place into every item, while the design system keeps them cohesive with the larger identity. The result is a collection that feels effortless, intentional, and distinctly tied to Billie’s lifestyle.

DIGITAL

Designed as both a digital welcome and a revenue engine—an online extension of the brand that feels as inviting and layered as the in-person experience. Beyond menus and reservations, the site opens into discovery: a curated space for private events, and a seamless e-commerce platform to shop the full Billie’s merch.

Illustrations weave through the design, echoing the tactile branding system, while subtle animations evoke the rhythm of the island: fluid, natural, and always in motion. Every interaction was considered, ensuring that whether a guest is booking a table, planning a celebration, or browsing merch, the voice of Billie’s—elevated yet approachable—comes through at every turn.

MARKETING

To keep the brand narrative alive, we developed a marketing toolkit built for both strategy, flexibility, and results. Social templates span four pillars that bring cohesion across every channel. E-blast templates and a collection of lifestyle imagery equip the team to communicate with ease, while a private events deck frames Billie’s as the natural stage for milestone moments.

Together, these tools form a living brand ecosystem—one that doesn’t just reach guests, but continually invites them to return, relive, and retell the Billie’s story.
